Plagiarism Policy
NexAvens Scientific Library
NexAvens Scientific Library is committed to publishing only original scholarly work and strictly adheres to internationally recognized ethical standards.
1. Plagiarism Screening
All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using iThenticate or an equivalent plagiarism detection tool.
A similarity index above 20% (excluding references, standardized methods, and properly quoted/cited material) may result in revision requests or rejection at the discretion of the Editorial Board.
2. Forms of Plagiarism
The following practices are considered plagiarism and are not tolerated:
Direct plagiarism: Verbatim copying of text without appropriate citation.
Mosaic plagiarism: Close paraphrasing or patch-writing without proper attribution.
Self-plagiarism: Reuse of one’s own previously published text, tables, or figures without citation.
Unattributed ideas or data using others’ concepts, data, or findings without acknowledgment.
3. Duplicate Publication and Preprints
Duplicate submission or redundant publication of the same/similar work in multiple journals is strictly prohibited.
Manuscripts previously posted on preprint servers are permitted, provided this is fully disclosed at submission and the version submitted has been appropriately updated.
4. Data, Figures and Image Integrity
Fabrication or falsification of data, and inappropriate image manipulation (e.g., selective enhancement, undeclared splicing, or alteration) are serious violations that may lead to rejection or retraction.
5. Citation Integrity
Irrelevant, coercive, or manipulative citation practices intended to artificially influence metrics are not permitted. Authors are expected to cite only relevant and credible sources.
6. Editorial Actions and Sanctions
If potential plagiarism is identified, authors may be asked to provide clarifications, revisions, or original data.
Confirmed cases prior to publication → rejection of the manuscript.
Confirmed cases after publication → retraction with a public notice.
In serious or repeated cases, authors may be barred from submitting to the journal for a specified period.
All cases are handled in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and flowcharts.
7. Appeals
Authors may appeal plagiarism-related decisions by submitting a written explanation with supporting evidence.
Appeals are reviewed by a senior editor who was not involved in the original decision, and the outcome will be final.
Publication Ethics
This journal follows the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and adheres to the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). By following these standards, we aim to uphold fair and transparent practices in all aspects of research and publication.
